I discovered why you should do a bike tour in Emilia Romagna, Central Italy. I’ve been there, in the area around Rimini, to find out how beautiful the countryside is, especially when explored by bicycle.

Let’s get started with what’s considered a milestone of our culture: food and wine.

Rimini is the home of piadina. You’ll find it everywhere, stuffed with all possible and imaginable food.

Here people have a natural attitude to make you feel at home, cuddled and welcomed. It’s so natural to them.

Perhaps you don’t know that in the Rimini countryside there are cheese and salami factories that produce them with so much love and care.

The best way to fully enjoy nature, spend a day outdoors, visit villages and small towns is by bike! If you are fit you can enjoy mountain biking, but even if you are not, you can rent an e-bike, like the one we used, and, with a guide who knows every corner of this paradise, discover hidden locations through vineyards and paths.

Biking in the Romagna countryside is not only fun, but it’s a great way to spend a day together and meet nice people, like my fellow travellers, with whom we really enjoyed! “The best group ever”, as our tour guide Andrea would say.

Pedaling through fields and trails you’ll occasionally come close to some small villages that are worth visiting.

And, at the end of the day, you’ll be back at the hotel. But not just any hotel: in a bike-hotel, equipped to welcome cyclists in the best way, providing all the necessary services, such as bike storage, mechanics, laundry, etc. but above all the unique family welcome of this region.

To close up the day I recommend the spa, the sunset over the sea and a delicious dinner with friends.
